In 2013, I bought the derelict air frame with the intention of allowing this aircraft to live on for
many more years, realizing that the aircraft could never be fully restored.
The ‘soul of the aircraft”, the cockpit, has been separated and was converted into a professional Flight Simulator for training/ instructing new pilots in their quest for a DC-3 type rating.
The tail and wings have become Decoration Objects. The fuselage,in a very poor shape due to the accident and corrosion, will be sectioned into smaller pieces where it can live on and please many a DC-3 / C-47/ Dakota enthusiast as an attractive interior piece of art.
More news about this opportunity to own your share of a War Bird will follow soon, stay tuned…. This is a genuine piece of rich Military and Civil Aviation History that this aircraft has experienced in dozens of countries where she flew for decades.
